Houston Physicians’ Hospital is seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Supervisor to join our team. As a Sterile Processing Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth surgical operations. Position Responsibilities
Oversees sterilization of instruments. Establishes effective working relationships with patients, physicians, vendor representatives, and employees. Collaborates with OR Lead Scrub technicians to prioritize workflow for the Sterile Processing Department and instrument turnover. Coordinates all department activities to assure continuous monitoring of hospital-wide Performance Improvement. Maintains a competent and motivated staff through selection, training, discipline, feedback, and termination of personnel as needed. Develops staff through assessing performance and promoting education and training. Promotes employee empowerment and engagement. Coordinates cost-effective operations of all assigned areas. Identifies and implements methods for focusing on standardization and utilization. Ensures compliance with TJC, OSHA, AAMI, AORN and state and federal regulatory agencies. Interacts with physicians, nurses, and other professional and non-professional staff members to provide quality sterile processing services. Promotes positive customer service attitude within and outside the department by maintaining effective working relationships. Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent Background in OR operations as a Sterile Processing technician and proficiency level typically acquired with six years of SPD experience Experience with operation of all types of sterilizers Appropriate Certification required What We Offer
