Overview
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to play a key leadership role within our integrated, multi-disciplinary design team, based in either our Kalamazoo or Grand Rapids, MI office. This position involves leading the design and commissioning of electrical systems for complex projects, with a focus on power distribution (including essential electrical systems), lighting, and special systems such as fire alarm, nurse call, and data/telecom infrastructure. The successful candidate will serve as a technical mentor, provide quality oversight, and work directly with clients to ensure innovative, code-compliant, and cost-effective solutions. We are looking for a strategic thinker and team leader who can thrive in a casual but client-focused culture, balance technical excellence with project delivery, and bring curiosity, creativity, and accountability to every challenge.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and commissioning of electrical systems for complex projects, with a focus on power distribution, lighting, and special systems (fire alarm, nurse call, data/telecom).
Serve as a technical mentor and provide quality oversight; work directly with clients to deliver innovative, code-compliant, and cost-effective solutions.
Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary design team and contribute to leadership operations.
Qualifications
4-year Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical or Architectural).
15+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering; able to obtain Professional Engineer license.
Professional Engineer License.
Business Development experience.
Operations/Management experience over engineers or entire office operations.
