$80,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr Account Executive - Compliance Testing Services A growing compliance testing laboratory in Livonia, MI is seeking a motivated
Sales Account Executive
to drive new business development across automotive, transportation, and other technical markets. This role involves close collaboration with an established sales team, technical experts in the lab, and regional/national management to expand market share and strengthen client relationships. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements, international standards (ISO, EN, FCC, ICES, SAE, MIL-STD, RTCA, IEC), and OEM-specific product standards. Target industries include automotive, heavy trucks, off-road, construction/agriculture/mining, powersports, marine, aerospace/defense, medical devices, and commercial/industrial electronics.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, pursue, and secure new customers in markets not yet served by the Livonia operations team.
Develop and execute regional growth strategies to achieve sales and revenue goals.
Expand business with existing accounts while proactively generating new opportunities.
Act as a technical liaison during the sales process, providing tailored solutions and building trusted advisor relationships with clients.
Conduct discovery discussions to assess customer needs and compliance requirements; translate findings into optimal solutions and service packages.
Draft internal test plans based on domestic and international standards to support proposal development.
Create and deliver customized technical presentations for clients.
Stay current on changes to international/OEM standards, testing methods, and emerging technologies; share knowledge with both clients and internal teams.
Participate in relevant industry groups and compliance organizations.
Own the end-to-end proposal process, including quotation generation, follow-up, and conversion using CRM tools.
Maintain accurate prospect pipelines and customer records in CRM.
Perform site visits and consult with engineering teams developing products requiring evaluation and testing.
Ensure smooth transition of awarded projects into the project management system.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent technical background).
Minimum 5 years of experience in or around an EMC or electrical testing laboratory.
At least 5 years of proven business development and account management success, ideally in a Test, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) environment.
Demonstrated results in new customer acquisition and market growth.
Experience working in a technical services or project-based environment.
Strong knowledge of automotive EMC test requirements; familiarity with major OEM specifications is highly valued.
Broader exposure to product testing across industries (automotive, IT, consumer goods, machinery, lighting, medical devices, etc.) preferred.
Solid understanding of laboratory-based product qualification and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 11452-2, ISO 10605, IEC 60601-1-2, FCC/EU RED).
Business acumen with an understanding of profitability drivers and financial fundamentals.
Excellent communication and organizational skills with a customer-focused mindset.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and basic CRM usage.
