Provide technical support and troubleshoot manufacturing issues Develop routings, work instructions and manufacturing visual aids Collaborate with Operations to develop process and technology improvements (e.g., safety and quality improvements, productivity enhancements, cost reduction ideas involving automation, special tooling, equipment modifications and improved work methods) Oversee the development and improvement of production processes Identify and implement process capability improvements Develop business cases for capital projects (e.g., new machines, new tooling, new ancillary equipment) and manage through to full implementation Effectively manage multiple projects achieving cost, performance and delivery expectations Actively participate in team-based problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5 Why, 6 Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, etc.) Develop, evaluate and implement employee suggestions, line-side reviews and employee-driven continuous improvement activities Prepare reports with recommendations on manufacturing and inspection methods, equipment and personnel requirements, time and cost comparison of various courses of action; implement flow layout/operation process improvements, six sigma projects, SMED, Kaizen, and continuous improvement activity Maintain engineering standards, routing, BoM, etc. in ERP system Qualifications
Competencies and job requirements
Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing (Kanban/Pull Systems, 5S, Single piece flow, Line Balancing, SMED, TPM, VSM) Six Sigma experience - Black Belt a plus Structured problem-solving skills Track record of process improvement and cost reduction Capital project management Proficient using AutoCAD; NX a plus Experience with ERP systems Familiar with basic machine controls Proficient implementing process control methodologies Effective communication and presentation skills Strong analytical ability and initiative Manufacturing experience – comfortable working with cross-functional teams and actively supporting the production team Education and experience
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing Technology Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience Benefits and culture
