Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Product Quality Manager located in Minneapolis, MN with approximately 30% travel. The Product Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing quality control and assurance processes, managing quality audits, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. Daily tasks include monitoring product standards through an NCR database, implementing quality control systems, driving corrective actions with suppliers, and collaborating with other departments to maintain product excellence through PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA and APQP standards.

QUALITY & CI MANAGER We are seeking a motivated, innovative, and results-driven Product Quality Manager with an entrepreneurial mindset to lead and oversee the company’s quality management system. In this role, you will ensure compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards by developing, implementing, and maintaining quality policies, procedures, and programs. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives across all processes, work closely with suppliers, customers, and internal teams, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance product quality, efficiency, and team performance. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands‑on leader who can influence and inspire others, foster a culture of quality excellence, and contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the organization.

JOB DUTIES

Maintain and further develop existing quality management systems and processes to align with customer requirements and the company QMS (ISO9001:2015).

Validate quality processes by documenting evidence, determining operational and performance qualifications, and ensuring compliance to standards.

Utilize and teach Lean tools including 6S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and Poka‑Yoke (mistake proofing); facilitate Kaizen events as necessary.

Work directly with suppliers and customers to ensure compliance with quality requirements.

Maintain and improve product quality by completing company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits.

Facilitate analysis and coordinate activities related to process and system improvement projects, while establishing programs to improve key metrics using continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing tools to enhance profitability, workflow, and team performance.

Communicate with General Managers to coordinate Quality and Lean activities.

Direct and coordinate activities with General Managers and their teams, ensuring engagement in quality functions including inspection, analysis, and training.

Oversee Customer Scorecard analysis and assist in developing process improvement activities to address identified issues.

Support portal quality management and ensure effective documentation control.

Implement measures to improve inspection methods, equipment/tool performance, product quality, and overall efficiency.

Manage supplier scorecard completion and preparation for supplier audits.

Conduct and supervise external process audits, including customer scorecard reviews and supplier assessments with appropriate follow‑up actions.

Provide timely customer responses to 8D’s and PPAP’s.

Collaborate with Process Teams regarding test results, continuous improvement initiatives, and quality system requirements.

Visit suppliers, customers, and branch locations as required to support quality objectives.

Act as a key representative for customers to ensure their product quality needs and requirements are being met.

Demonstrate the ability to work as a team player and motivate others effectively within a collaborative environment.

Proactively work to improve quality systems both internally and externally across the organization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

Post‑secondary qualifications, preferably in Engineering.

Expert knowledge of ISO9001 / IATF16949 standards and VDA quality requirements.

Extensive experience with quality requirements and documentation, including PPAP, 8D, FMEA, APQP, Control Plans, and other core tools.

Certified QMS Auditor with demonstrated skill in improving quality systems.

Proven experience as a Lean leader with hands‑on knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma methodologies.

Ability to set, prioritize, and enable the achievement of ambitious goals by influencing and collaborating with others.

Demonstrated capability to develop and embed Lean strategies that drive improvements in both manufacturing and warehouse business processes.

Expert‑level knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement methods, supported by industry insight.

Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Strong presentation skills, with the ability to respond effectively to questions from managers, suppliers, and customers.

Ability to multi‑task, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong project management and facilitation skills, including Root Cause Analysis and leading cross‑functional teams.

Enthusiastic and creative leader with the ability to inspire and motivate people to drive organization‑wide change.

Excellent organizational, communication, multi‑tasking, and prioritization skills.

Willingness and ability to travel at least 30% to support quality and Lean initiatives.
