Position Overview: The Penn Fund includes a dedicated team of Class Giving Directors who work with alumni volunteers and development colleagues to meet class fundraising goals, focusing on quinquennial reunion classes. Reporting to the Director of Class Giving and Reunion Programs, the Assistant Class Giving Director will motivate undergraduate alumni to support the University through philanthropy and volunteer engagement and will partner within the broader Development and Alumni Relations framework at Penn. The Assistant Class Giving Director will also manage an individual prospect portfolio, conduct outreach (virtual and in-person), travel as needed, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, and recruit and train volunteers. A key responsibility is managing solicitation of top Penn Fund prospects in at least one milestone reunion class, while supporting additional classes to drive growth in dollars and donor participation. The role includes building and managing high-performing gift committees of alumni volunteers who solicit peers at leadership giving levels and foster a culture of loyal giving. The role also requires collaboration with other prospect managers to solicit assigned undergraduate alumni for unrestricted and scholarship support. The ability to manage, analyze, and draw insights from complex and confidential data to identify top prospects and volunteers is essential. Frontline Fundraising Regularly connect with prospective donors and volunteers—within and outside an individual portfolio—through visits (virtual and in-person), phone, and email Meet with prospective donors and volunteers to increase philanthropic support, focusing on leadership annual giving prospects ($2,500+) and endowed scholarship solicitations of at least $125,000 Include solicitation of non-reunion undergraduate alumni leadership donors in addition to milestone-reunion donors and those contributing at or below leadership levels across all assigned classes Document all prospect actions in the internal database to ensure information sharing across the University Volunteer Management Recruit, train, and manage reunion class giving committees and volunteers within the assigned class portfolio; motivate volunteers; communicate progress, strategies, and fundraising priorities; create and analyze data and reports; maintain accurate database updates reflecting all activity Other Potential Duties as Assigned Staff additional reunion and/or non-reunion classes as needed; liaise with partner teams across the division; assist with planning and execution of annual volunteer and donor events Please provide a resume and cover letter to be considered for this role. Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge of fundraising principles and comfort soliciting gifts from an engaged donor community Enthusiasm for data-driven decision-making and goal achievement Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects, and willingness to work both independently and with a team Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; ability to learn organization-specific systems and databases Willingness to travel as necessary to meet with donors and volunteers Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends Job Location - City, State
