Overview
Guest Service Agent (GSA) at Sonesta International Hotels who supports the front desk and Operations Manager. The GSA is the first point of contact and represents the brand as guests enter the hotel. Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver on the Sonesta Service promise in all guest and client interactions according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards. Register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services and room locations. Answer phones promptly and courteously. Process cash and credit card transactions in accordance with procedures, including posting charges, completing cashier reports, preparing deposits, and securing the assigned bank. Maintain the security of cash, credit card transactions, and guest information. Book guest reservations for individuals or groups, process cancellations and revisions, and update information as needed. Up-sell rooms when possible to maximize revenue. Follow seasonal demand reservation strategies regarding room type and length of stay pricing. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management. Assist with shoppe and pour services, ensuring guests receive available services and products, and follow local laws regarding alcohol sales. Fulfill guest special requests and ensure proper delivery of guest services. Issue, control, and release guest safe-deposit boxes. Comply with federal, state, and local laws regarding health, safety, and alcohol services. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent required. One year of hotel experience or prior retail customer service preferred. Experience in the extended stay industry preferred. Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages are beneficial. Professional verbal and written communication skills. Basic mathematical skills; budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances preferred. Problem solving, reasoning, organizational and training abilities preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred. ServSafe certification required; TIPS certification may be required. Valid driver’s license required. Physical requirements: frequently standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility; lifting up to 50 pounds; standing for extended periods.
