Position Summary
Perform basic to advanced skilled work to identify, remove, and install aircraft components and to perform servicing of engines and aircraft accessories to ensure airworthiness according to customer specifications and FAA standards. Reads and complies with instructions and safety information as necessary for proper and safe completion of assigned work.

Key Responsibilities / Job Duties
Services and repairs aircraft and engines to ensure airworthiness according to customer specifications and FAA standards.
Removes and replaces aircraft components according to driving documentation.
Identifies, removes, and installs inspection access panels.
Reads maintenance manuals to identify and locate aircraft components; identifies the structural composition of aircraft prior to work on the structure.
Performs aircraft lubrications.
Removes and replaces filters, and performs leak checks.
Performs repairs on noted discrepancies, and researches manufacturer’s manual for appropriate repair procedures prior to performing repairs.
Proficient in Flightstar’s integrated operating systems for locating parts, alternate part numbers, requesting parts and verifying part effectiveness.
Uses basic hand tools or equipment to perform skilled manual and technical work.
Lifts and carries hand tools, parts, and work materials; ascends/descends ladders and platforms; works in various positions.
Follows safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment for the work performed.
Follows instructions and Flightstar’s standard operating procedures; remains current on required training regarding aircraft maintenance and safety standards for personnel and apprentices.
Communicates effectively in English regarding work activities, per FAA requirements.
Prepares and maintains basic records such as work orders, non-routine task cards, logs, and time/material records.
Possesses working knowledge of ATA Codes and aircraft zones, familiarization with narrow body airframes, and industry standards.
Signs off aircraft maintenance paperwork as ‘Qualified Mechanic’ upon meeting all regulatory and customer program requirements.
Performs routine servicing of engines and aircraft accessories.
Performs jacking and leveling of aircraft.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Internal : Immediate Manager/Supervisor and other Maintenance Leadership; Department Leads; Other department employees and contract employees.
External : Corporate and OpCO employees; Customers; Vendors.

Academic Qualifications : High School Diploma or GED required
Languages: Read, speak, write, and understand English.
Special Licenses: Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate is preferred; Airframe Familiarization (FAM) course certificates preferred
Drivers License: Required
Previous Experience: Minimum 18 months of relevant experience or completion of FAA approved A&P program.
Technical Skills: Basic computer skills to navigate Flightstar’s ERP system, vending, and research of maintenance manuals.
Required Skills: Lifting and carrying tools, parts, and materials; working in various positions (stooping, kneeling, squatting); ladders and platforms.
Working Conditions : Personal Protective Equipment; safety rules and regulations; safety culture; safety glasses required, prescription glasses if applicable.
