The Role
As an Investment Analyst, you’ll be a force multiplier for Fundify’s investing engine — turning raw deal flow into crisp insight. You’ll triage and analyze incoming startups, prepare investment briefs and IC materials, and help evolve the frameworks and tooling that power our decision-making.
What You’ll Do
Deal Flow Triage & Screening
Perform first-pass reviews of submissions and referrals; score opportunities against Fundify criteria.
Identify red flags and unknowns; draft targeted requests for missing data.
Conduct phone screens and interviews with startup founders/teams raising capital; capture structured notes and next steps.
Produce concise 1-page snapshots summarizing the business, traction, team, and key questions.
Manage pipeline stages and notes in our CRM (HubSpot) with exceptional data hygiene.
Analysis & Modeling
Evaluate business models and unit economics (pricing, margins, CAC/LTV sanity checks, payback periods).
Conduct market sizing (TAM/SAM/SOM), competitive mapping, and comparable rounds analysis.
Build light scenario models in Excel/Google Sheets; sanity-check financial projections.
Understand early-stage instruments (SAFE, convertible notes, priced rounds) and cap-table basics.
Diligence & Investment Committee Support
Draft investment briefs and full IC memos with clear theses, risks, and milestone plans.
Coordinate diligence calls with customers, references, and domain experts (including our ProAdvisor network).
Synthesize findings into actionable recommendations and present to senior investment team members.
Research & Intelligence
Track emerging sectors and write short market notes to inform our deal evaluation framework.
Maintain a comps database and living landscapes for priority categories.
Monitor comparable deals and valuation trends to ground Fundify viewpoints.
Portfolio, Community & Cross-Function
Support portfolio reporting (KPI tracking, follow-ups) and founder communications.
Partner with Marketing/Community to convert insights into shareable content for our investor base.
Collaborate with Legal/Compliance on documentation workflows related to crowdfunding (e.g., Reg CF/Reg D) as needed.
Process & Tooling
Keep repeatable templates current (screening checklists, diligence guides, IC memo structure).
Suggest automations to streamline pipeline triage and research ops.
Outcomes & KPIs (First 90 Days)
Screen 30–50 opportunities/week with
Deliver 6+ IC-ready briefs with clear go/no-go recommendations.
Reduce average time-to-first-assessment to
Maintain ≥98% CRM field completeness for active pipeline.
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves:
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills; proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
Clear, structured writing that turns complexity into actionable insight.
Curiosity about founders and markets; bias for crisp, evidence-based decision making.
1–3 years of experience in early-stage investing, startup operations, banking/consulting, equity research, or analogous analytical roles.
Exposure to venture platforms and datasets (Crunchbase, CB Insights, PitchBook, Capital IQ).
Familiarity with crowdfunding ecosystems and securities basics (e.g., Reg CF/Reg D).
HubSpot proficiency (big plus); other tools like Affinity/Notion/Airtable nice-to-have; light SQL or Python a plus.
CFA progress (any level) welcomed but not required.
Education Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience. We welcome non-traditional paths.
Work Setup
Employment type: Full-time.
Location: Remote (U.S.); Austin, TX preferred. Periodic travel for events, demo days, or portfolio visits.
Work hours: Core collaboration aligned to U.S. Central Time.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: Commensurate with experience
