Staff Engineer - Finance Data Specialist (Hybrid) GEICO is seeking a Finance Data Specialist to support the build out of a Finance Data Warehouse/Lake by partnering with Finance and Technology teams to redesign how they use their technologies in managing GEICO's business. The ideal candidate has a strong functional and technical Finance Systems background to drive capture, transformation, and utilization of Finance data to meet business goals. The Staff Engineer, Finance Data Specialist will report to the Senior Manager of Finance Data & Analytics and will provide solutions to build out, maintain, and support a Finance Data repository to support FP&A processing and analytics, while supporting the broader Finance organization’s need for Finance data. The role is focused on delivering a reconciled source of truth for Financial transactions and serving as the source for Revenue and Expense analytics. It also supports the delivery of technology solutions for FP&A Planning/Budgeting, financial reporting, Revenue/Expense Analytics, and the ongoing development of the Finance Data Warehouse/dataset." Staff Engineer – Finance Data Specialist GEICO is seeking Finance Data Specialists to support the build out of a Finance Data Warehouse/Lake by partnering with both Finance and Technology teams to redesign the way they use their technologies in managing GEICO's business. This individual must have strong functional and technical Finance Systems background to partner with the Business ensuring effective discussions to drive the capture, transformation, and utilization of Finance data to meet business goals. The Staff Engineer, Finance Data Specialist will support building, maintaining, and supporting a Finance Data repository to support FP&A processing and analytics and will support the larger Finance organization’s need for Finance data. The Finance Data Specialist will work with multiple Finance and Technology leaders to support the build out of the company’s Finance Data Warehouse/Lake to provide a central repository for all Financial related transactions as the reconciled source of truth for processing and analytics. This role also supports the delivery of technology solutions to support FP&A Planning/Budgeting, financial reporting, Revenue/Expense Analytics, and the build out of the Finance Data Warehouse to become a reconciled source to allow the GL to become a “thin” ledger. The ideal candidate has deep Finance Systems experience across multiple companies, with a background in ERP and Finance Data Warehouses from both technical and functional perspectives and has supported deployment of best practices leveraging knowledge of various ERPs (e.g. Oracle; Workday; SAP or PeopleSoft). Prior Financial Systems experience is needed to be considered. Responsibilities

Leverage strong functional and technical systems expertise to drive toward the right solution for the department and GEICO’s needs Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle Support design sessions with peers to ensure systems are well designed, efficient, and meet business expectations Collaborate with Finance Leaders within FP&A, Controllers, Financial Reporting, and Finance QA & Systems, along with Data Engineering and Finance Technology leaders Establish a vision and technology roadmap to build out a Finance Data Lake/Warehouse Understand finance data lake/mart with data processing/transformation using ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Informatica, DBT) Design, develop, implement, and maintain data ingestion and transformation solutions Work with cloud data solutions (Delta Lake, Iceberg, Hudi, Snowflake, Redshift or equivalent) Develop a roadmap and implement Revenue and Expense Analytical solutions Influence customers and stakeholders and navigate divergent expectations Support a strong control and governance framework for SOX and Audit reviews Align Business and Technology discussions toward long-term Finance and Technology goals Translate business and functional specifications into technical specifications Share best practices and improve processes within and across teams Qualifications

15+ years of Finance Systems experience with ERP solutions (e.g., Oracle, Workday, SAP or PeopleSoft) 3+ years of experience implementing and supporting FP&A applications (Preferred) 3+ years working with a Finance Data Lake/Warehouse/Mart and Financial Reporting tools Good understanding of Dimensional Data Modeling Strong knowledge of data processing/transformation using ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Informatica, DBT) Strong SQL skills for writing, debugging, and optimizing queries and ETL jobs Experience with Financials via major vendors (PeopleSoft, Oracle EBS, Oracle Cloud, Workday, SAP) Finance domain expertise to translate process and functional needs into system solutions Understanding of FP&A Budgeting, Planning, and forecasting processes Experience implementing or supporting Revenue or Expense analytics via Power BI, Tableau, etc. Understanding of accounting processes and reporting expectations Ability to communicate with users across Technology and Finance Knowledge of project management techniques and best practices Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of software development life cycle Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent education or work experience Annual Salary
