Base pay range
$115,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr We are seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join our accounting team at a growing Japanese food restaurant chain in North America with over 80 units. This role will oversee accounting operations, ensure accounting accuracy, and support strategic financial decision-making. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of GAAP, strong leadership skills, and management experience. Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and financial reporting. Play a key role in the month end financial statement close process by preparing, reviewing and analyzing accounting entries and account reconciliations. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other financial regulations. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Lead audits and coordinate with external auditors. Implement and improve accounting processes and internal controls. Supervise and mentor accounting team members. Partner with finance and other teams. Work closely with CFO with other responsibilities including leading and management of special projects, ERP enhancements, internal controls, and ad hoc analyses as requested. Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred but not required). Master’s degree, especially in Accounting, Finance, MBA, or related field is a plus. At least 8+ years of accounting experience is a must (preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry but not required). At least 3+ years management experience is a must. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. This position will be actively involved in IPOs, M&A, investor relations, and accounting related matters. Experience in those areas is a plus. Experience with ERP systems (Sage Intact preferred but not required). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and other financial tools. Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams. Japanese language skill is a plus but not requirement. Location and relocation
