This description reflects the Multilingual Curriculum Specialist – Primary Literacy focus with responsibilities across curriculum development, intervention support, data quality, campus alignment, and related educational standards. Primary Purpose

Under the direction of the Curriculum and Instruction Director and in partnership with the Primary Managing Directors and Academic Strategy and Support team, the Curriculum Specialist - Primary Literacy will develop, refine, and manage literacy curriculum systems to ensure alignment with the science of teaching Reading, TEKS, ELPS, and IB Programme Standards. This role focuses on refining instructional supports and supplemental content to create coherent, vertically aligned curriculum materials and assessment tools that support scholar achievement across the network for ALL scholars. Duties/Responsibilities

Curriculum Development and Management (50%)

Develop and manage content visions and curriculum systems for network-wide implementation Collaborate with leaders, teachers, and curriculum peers to ensure curriculum alignment with IB Programme Standards and Practices and vertical alignment across grade bands Help teachers develop deep understanding of and deconstruct TEKS and ELPS for their grade level and content area, with attention to emergent bilingual students Ensure all curriculum development aligns with the science of teaching Reading and incorporates evidence-based strategies for multilingual learners Participate in and facilitate curriculum review committees with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders Apply educational theory and research to inform curriculum development decisions and recommendations

Intervention and Support Systems (20%)

Co-plan with the Multilingual Programs Team and Data team to align Tier 2 interventions with Tier 1 curriculum, ensuring ALL students can access and master grade-level content Design curricular support materials that support differentiated instruction and intervention strategies Create assessment tools and rubrics for measuring curriculum effectiveness

Data and Quality Assurance (20%)

Work with the Data Team to analyze curriculum effectiveness and track progress toward organizational goals Use assessment data to inform curriculum revisions and improvements, focusing on emergent bilingual student outcomes Establish quality assurance processes for curriculum materials and resources Analyze student achievement data and teaching strategies to make data-driven recommendations Clearly communicate curriculum changes and teaching standards to school staff through professional development and training

Campus and Academic Team Alignment/Support (10%)

Supports identification and reclassification testing for Emergent Bilinguals Engage in Dual Language and/or ESL Cohorts twice monthly with Multilingual Managers for professional development Collaborates with the Academic team through joint professional development and regular meetings Visit campuses to observe curriculum implementation and gather feedback to adjust supports

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university required Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Reading, or related field preferred Experience with curriculum writing and inquiry-based instruction required Texas Teacher Certification with endorsement in Bilingual and/or ESL education required International Baccalaureate experience preferred Experience Requirements

Minimum three years of classroom teaching experience in elementary literacy Experience in Intervention, ESL, or Dual Language roles preferred Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and design Experience with standards alignment and vertical curriculum mapping Experience developing aligned Intervention materials Experience utilizing TEKS and ELPS and their connections to State Assessments Demonstrated and measurable student achievement in literacy on state assessments Understanding of IB instructional and planning practices preferred Required Skills/Abilities

Deep knowledge of Science of Teaching Reading and evidence-based strategies for multilingual learners Expertise in TEKS standards and curriculum alignment Proficiency in assessment design and data analysis Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for evaluating curriculum effectiveness Strong project management and organizational skills Excellent written communication and documentation skills Attention to detail and familiarity with common tools (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canva) Committee facilitation and collaborative leadership abilities Competency in Microsoft Office applications and curriculum management software Ability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders Detail-oriented with a quality assurance mindset Additional Qualifications

Starting Salary:
