As a Solutions Engineer within our Managed Services team, you will serve as the top-tier technical expert responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting complex IT solutions for our small and medium-sized business (SMB) clients. This role requires deep technical knowledge across cloud, networking, security, and infrastructure, paired with excellent communication and leadership skills. You will act as a senior escalation point for our internal support team, guide strategic technology decisions for clients, project delivery, and play a key role in standardizing and improving service delivery across the organization. Client-Facing Solution Design & Consulting
Serve as the technical lead for client projects and initiatives. Design and implement tailored IT solutions that align with client business needs, budgets, and growth plans. Conduct in-depth discovery sessions to assess client infrastructure, identify pain points, and recommend improvements. Provide expert guidance on Microsoft 365, Azure, server migrations, networking upgrades, and security best practices. Advanced Escalation & Problem Solving
Act as the final escalation point for complex or high-priority technical issues across systems, cloud, and network environments. Lead root cause analysis and develop long-term solutions to prevent recurring incidents. Provide technical oversight for major incident response and recovery efforts. Collaborate with vendors and partners on behalf of clients to resolve hardware/software issues. Lead the planning, architecture, and delivery of major IT projects (e.g., migrations, security upgrades, infrastructure refreshes). Ensure projects meet technical requirements, timelines, and client expectations. Work closely with the project coordinator to align resources and communicate progress. Create documentation, diagrams, and client-facing materials to support smooth transitions and hand-offs. Mentor Tier 1–3 support staff, sharing expertise and helping elevate the team’s technical skills. Develop and maintain internal best practices, SOPs, and solution templates. Recommend new tools, technologies, and processes that enhance service quality and operational efficiency. Participate in vendor evaluations and contribute to the development of standardized service offerings. Required Qualifications
10+ years of MSP experience in IT support, systems administration, or solutions engineering. Strong background in SMB-focused IT infrastructure: Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, and backup/disaster recovery. Hands-on experience with firewalls, switches, RMM tools, and security platforms. Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, cloud, and networking issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work directly with business owners, managers, and non-technical staff. Comfortable managing multiple clients, projects, and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-102, AZ-104, AZ-500) CompTIA Network+, Security+, or similar Experience with PSA and RMM tools (e.g., ConnectWise, Datto, Kaseya, Atera, NinjaOne) Virtualization knowledge (Hyper-V, VMware) Familiarity with ITIL practices, documentation platforms (e.g., IT Glue, Hudu), and automation tools Employment details
