The Control Engineer is responsible for developing and engineering controls solutions for projects, ensuring that TAIT's solutions are engineered to the highest levels of quality and safety. The Control Engineering team handles control systems across multiple projects and project phases. A Control Engineer typically starts with design and continues with engineering activities throughout manufacturing, shop and site commissioning, and client handover. Essential Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Identifies architecture and key controls technologies to meet project needs. Understands automated systems and how disciplines interact (mechanical, controls, artistic, etc.). Writes technical documentation to fulfill project requirements and for internal purposes. Performs safety analyses to satisfy internal standards and external client requirements. Develops custom PLC projects, HMIs, and software configurations when required for projects. Researches available products and solutions, and when necessary, builds and tests prototypes. Contributes to design reviews with productive feedback for peers. Ensures smooth handover to fabrication and integration teams. Promotes and contributes to internal standards and processes. Commissions and formally tests installed systems to ensure correct performance and satisfy client requirements. Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures. Attends meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required. Performs assigned duties according to the policies and expectations prescribed by the company. Professionalism: Positive, punctual, and willing to learn and grow within the field of control engineering. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical Theater, or equivalent experience. 1+ years of experience in related field. Creative problem-solver with proficiency in both theory and hands-on skills. Experience with large, distributed control systems is preferred. Experience with closed-loop motion control is preferred. Understanding of functional safety standards is preferred, including ISO12100, IEC 62061, and ISO 13849. Familiarity with Beckhoff and Siemens control hardware and software is preferred. Knowledge of TAIT Navigator software is preferred. This position may require travel up to 20-40% of the time to support project success. Travel may be international. Must hold or be able to acquire a passport for international travel. Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Work conditions may involve moderate exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, odors, and/or loud noises. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks requiring basic safety precautions. Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate PPE (safety glasses, reflective vest, ear plugs, safety toed shoes, etc.) as required by location.
