Responsibilities
Educate patients and families about oncology procedures and treatments, addressing concerns and fostering understanding Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved oncology nursing techniques Prepare and maintain oncology-specific equipment assisting oncologists during treatment and examinations Monitor and address patients' comfort, safety, and side effects, implementing interventions to improve quality of life Assess and monitor patients, document conditions and responses Maintain detailed and accurate nursing documentation in medical records Respond to life-saving situations according to oncology nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol Develop and implement individualized education plans for cancer patients and families Participate in oncology quality improvement initiatives Advocate for oncology patients and assist with navigation of treatment plans Perform other duties within the scope of practice Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
Required: One year of recent experience as an Oncology RN Required: Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Required: Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred: Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification Preferred: ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication English language proficiency (read, write, and communicate) Ability to read and follow instructions; proficiency with PC skills Physical abilities: able to remain stationary, move equipment, push/pull, and bend Interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse personnel Technical/motor skills for procedures and equipment Mental requirements: able to manage deadlines, work under supervision occasionally, and maintain attention to detail Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication
