Overview
Sydness Architects is a boutique, mid-town Manhattan, award-winning architecture studio seeking an intermediate level project manager with experience in workplace design. This role will be an active and integral part of our office, offering opportunities to experience all phases of the design and construction process with growth potential. The candidate will take ownership of projects and directly manage other staff members, with active involvement and collaboration with office leadership. Current projects vary in scale and typology, allowing for a diverse workday with involvement in interior and exterior architectural elements. This is a full-time, in-office position in Midtown Manhattan. This is an immediate in-office (M-F) position, so we ask that applicants already live in the New York metropolitan area. Required Experience
Architectural degree (B. Arch / M. Arch) from an accredited institution. 5-8 years in a NYC firm with experience in retail/corporate interiors. Fluency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite is required. Knowledge of construction means and methods, construction materials, and typical details. Working knowledge of NYC building codes is expected; experience with zoning is a plus. Experience in selecting and sourcing architectural finishes, fabrics, lighting, is desired. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, are required.

Be comfortable multi-tasking on several projects at one time. Have the ability to work as part of a team and independently. Be highly organized, self-motivated, with an upbeat attitude. Be able to understand priorities and know when to seek direction. Be comfortable asking questions and interested in learning.
Expected Tasks
Assist in the creation of schematic, construction, and permitting drawings including schematic layouts. Assist in the creation of marketing and presentation documents. Participate in all aspects of construction administration; including site visits, RFI responses, submittal reviews, and creation and issuance of meeting minutes. Research and source furniture, lighting, fabrics, and other interior finishes. Assist in the ordering of samples and the maintenance of finish/material libraries.
