Senior Electrical Engineer role at GFT. Hybrid work model at offices in New York, NY; Mechanicsburg, PA; Baltimore, MD; Philadelphia, PA; Fairfax, VA; East Brunswick, NJ; or Washington, DC. What You Will Do
GFT is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Building and Places Team that specializes in the design of water and wastewater projects. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing electrical design, inspection, and condition assessment projects for water and wastewater treatment facilities nationally. Lead/Manage the preparation of electrical design criteria documents, electrical design directive drawings, electrical system calculations, electrical system analyses, contract drawings, detailed specifications and performance-based specifications for electrical power distribution and related systems. Perform site surveys of existing system conditions for interface of new designs with existing electrical and control systems. Design of electrical systems including low/medium voltage power distribution, standby/emergency generation, interior/exterior lighting for buildings, and fire alarm systems. Provide construction assistance including electrical shop drawing review, contractor relations, and site surveys. Supervise and mentor electrical staff comprised of engineers and designers. Manage and regularly report on project performance, accruals, and utilization. Lead and participate in meetings with clients, utility service representatives, and project teams. Deliver projects on time and within client budgets. Ensure delivery in compliance with client and company quality control procedures and engineering guidelines. Preparation of project specifications. Daily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines. Coordination and verification of as-built drawings. Perform quality work that promotes client retention. Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including electrical floor plans, equipment schematic diagrams, equipment block diagrams, electrical load calculations, short circuit studies, protective device coordination studies, and arc flash analysis. What You Will Bring To Our Firm Minimum Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or Architectural Engineering with Electrical focus 8+ years of progressive experience in engineering and design of electrical systems for water and wastewater projects Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington DC or Virginia is preferred or the ability to obtain the PE licenses within one year of employment Firm understanding of the National Electrical Code and NFPA codes/standards such as NFPA 820 and energy codes Experience with facility surveys, reports, feasibility studies, design, specifications, cost estimating, and construction activity support Capable of driving the successful completion of projects Experience with alternative project delivery is a plus Ability to work independently or in a team environment Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment Experience using AutoCAD is a plus Building Information Modeling (BIM – Autodesk Revit) experience is a plus Electrical power design experience is required Experience in Power Studies (Short Circuit, Coordination, Arc Flash) preferred Proficiency using SKM Power Tools Software is preferred What We Prefer You Bring

The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $160,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location. Benefits
