Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist @ GFT | Strategic Recruiting Support GFT is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Building and Places Team in Valley Forge, PA or Philadelphia, PA. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our office.

What You’ll Be Challenged To Do Your day to day responsibilities will include managing electrical design, inspection, condition assessment projects for various public sector facilities including transit stations, maintenance facilities, education, industrial, federal and military facility, water/wastewater treatment facilities, commercial, manufacturing, state and local government and institutional projects nationally.

Lead/Manage the preparation of electrical design criteria documents, electrical design directive drawings, electrical system calculations, electrical system technical analyses, electrical system contract design drawings, detailed specifications and performance based specifications for electrical power distribution and related systems.

Key Responsibilities

Perform site survey of existing system conditions for interface of new designs with existing electrical and control systems.

Design electrical systems including low/medium voltage power distribution, standby/emergency generation, interior/exterior lighting, local area IT networks, access control, security and fire alarm systems.

Provide construction assistance including electrical shop drawing review, contractor relations, and site surveys.

Supervise and mentor electrical staff comprised of engineers and designers.

Manage and regularly report on project performance, accruals and utilization.

Lead and participate in meetings with clients, state agencies, city agencies, utility service representatives and project teams.

Deliver projects on time and within client budgets.

Deliver projects in compliance with client and company quality control procedures and engineering guidelines.

Prepare project specifications.

Collaborate daily with cross‑functional teams across multiple disciplines.

Coordinate and verify as‑built drawings.

Perform quality work that promotes client retention.

Develop reports and design documents including electrical floor plans, equipment schematic diagrams, equipment block diagrams, electrical load calculations, short circuit studies, protective device coordination studies, and arc flash studies.

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or Architectural Engineering with Electrical focus.

10+ plus years progressive experience in engineering and design of electrical systems.

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington DC or Virginia preferred or ability to obtain the PE license within one year of employment.

Firm understanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards and energy codes.

Experience with facility surveys, reports, feasibility studies, design, specifications, cost estimating, and construction activity support.

Project management and leadership skills, capable of driving the successful completion of projects is a plus.

Experience with alternative project delivery is a plus.

Ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced, challenging environment.

Experience using AutoCAD is a plus.

BIM (Autodesk Revit) experience is a plus.

Electrical power design experience is required.

Power studies (Short Circuit, Coordination, Arc Flash) preferred.

PKM Power Tools Software preferred.

Security and communication design experience preferred.

Compensation The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $160,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
