What You’ll Do

Manage electrical design, inspection, condition assessment projects for water and wastewater treatment facilities nationally.

Lead and manage preparation of electrical design criteria documents, directives, calculations, technical analyses, contract design drawings, detailed specifications, performance-based specifications for power distribution and related systems.

Perform site survey of existing system conditions for interface of new designs with existing electrical and control systems.

Design electrical systems including low/medium voltage power distribution, standby/emergency generation, interior/exterior lighting, fire alarm systems.

Construction assistance: shop drawing review, contractor relations, site surveys.

Supervise and mentor electrical staff (engineers and designers).

Manage and report project performance, accruals, utilization.

Lead and participate in meetings with clients, utility service representatives, project teams.

Deliver projects on time, within budgets, and compliance with quality control procedures and engineering guidelines.

Preparation of project specifications; coordination and verification of as-built drawings; daily cross-functional collaboration.

Perform quality work that promotes client retention.

What You Will Bring

Minimum Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or Architectural Engineering with Electrical focus.

8+ years progressive experience in engineering and design of electrical systems for water and wastewater projects.

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington DC or Virginia, or ability to obtain within one year.

Firm understanding of NEC, NFPA 820, energy codes.

Experience with facility surveys, reports, feasibility studies, design, specifications, cost estimating, construction activity support.

Capable of driving successful completion of projects.

Experience with alternative project delivery and ability to work independently or in team.

Experience with AutoCAD (plus); BIM Revit (plus); SKM Power Tools (preferred).

Electrical power design experience required; electrical power studies (short circuit, coordination, arc flash) preferred.

Preferred

Project management and leadership skills, alternative project delivery experience.

Independent and team environment, fast-paced challenging environment.

AutoCAD, BIM Revit experience.

Security and communication design experience (plus).

Compensation Salary range $120,000 – $160,000 dependent on experience and geographic location.
