Overview Vonnegut Construction Inc. is seeking a seasoned Field Construction Supervisor to oversee day-to-day field operations on residential and commercial construction sites. This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role responsible for ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and professional with a strong background in construction fieldwork and project oversight.

Salary & Employment Type Salary: $110,000 - $150,000+ per year (Performance Bonus) Employment Type: Full-Time
Industry General Construction (Residential, Commercial)
Job Responsibilities
Supervise on-site construction activities from start to finish
Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, site access, and daily work plans
Monitor and enforce safety compliance and jobsite cleanliness
Communicate daily with the Project Manager on progress, challenges, and updates
Perform quality control checks to ensure workmanship meets company standards
Track project schedules and report on daily progress
Troubleshoot on-site issues and resolve conflicts promptly
Conduct and document jobsite meetings, safety briefings, and inspections
Ensure that materials, tools, and equipment are used efficiently
Support project startup and closeout procedures
Represent the company professionally with clients, inspectors, and trade partners
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in construction supervision or field operations
Hands-on experience with residential and/or commercial job sites
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, materials, and site safety practices
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
Effective communicator with a collaborative, team-first attitude
Detail-oriented, organized, and consistent in execution
Comfortable leading crews and interacting with clients or inspectors
Familiarity with construction reporting, scheduling tools, and mobile tech platforms is a plus
No formal degree or certifications required - experience and leadership matter most
