The Logistics Technician is responsible for machine tool and parts shipping, product parts storage inside the facility, and receiving parts/components shipments from suppliers, as well as safe and secure transport within the facility from storage areas to the assembly floor. Responsibilities

Proactively ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. Operate overhead bridge crane with remote control to lift, transport, and position parts, equipment, or assembled material. Attach sling, rope, magnet, chain, or other hooking device and select proper equipment for lifting and transporting parts onto machines or during assembly or disassembly. Inspect crane safety check sheets and report concerns to Maintenance or Safety as needed. Attend Crane Certification sessions to stay current with safety rules and regulations. Determine proper placement of skids and protect finished surfaces from damage when setting parts down. Assist machine operators with simple set-ups when required by instructions or routines. Operate trucks or other equipment to move material within the company and ensure safe clearance of obstacles. Maintain a clean and orderly work area and report unsafe conditions to supervision. May be required to respond during off shifts to support departmental needs. Storage duties: receipt, identification, storage, disbursement, and inventory of materials, castings, supplies, and equipment; operate under the direction of a Coordinator. Check materials upon receipt, assign storage locations, label, and store; review requisitions and expedite material to the proper manufacturing area. Familiarity with SAP transactions and SAP usage within supervisor guidelines. Take inventories, identify shortages, and notify proper personnel when inventory is low. Operate equipment for moving castings and parts, including walking overhead crane and hand/electric trucks; work may be indoors or outdoors. Maintain records and keep the work area clean and orderly; report unusual conditions to supervision. Adhere to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 awareness and compliance. Education/Certification

High school diploma or GED; Parts moving equipment certification (crane, forklift, etc.). Experience

Two years related experience and/or training safely handling moving of large complex parts for machine tool assembly. Skills

Working knowledge of SAP Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work off shift as required Ability and willingness to mentor/instruct employees on proper part handling with an emphasis on safety Willing to travel periodically as required Seniority level
