Overview
The Osthoff Resort is seeking a friendly, professional, and guest-focused individual to join our team as a Night Auditor. This individual is responsible for balancing daily accounting reports and preparing the computer systems and front desk for the next business day. They also attend to the front desk and provide guests with AAA 4-Diamond service. The Night Auditor also assists with security and lockup procedures.
Responsibilities
Run reports and prepare the property management system to turnover the day; take care of guest needs during that time
Provide prompt, friendly, and courteous service in all aspects of the job
Be on site at the front desk or in view of guests and conduct oneself accordingly
Respond to guest inquiries, concerns, or complaints in a courteous, timely, and efficient manner
Handle stressful situations calmly and professionally
Comply with all AAA Four-Diamond service standards
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of promotional packages and events
Have knowledge of local activities in the surrounding area
Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and professional customer service over the phone
Assist guests with check-in/check-out procedures
Assist guests with making, adjusting, and/or cancelling reservations
Take deposits for advance reservations and handle cash procedures
Keep work areas, including front desk, telephone, back office, and concierge, neat and clean
Communicate procedural changes to facilitate hotel operations
Run daily reports to prepare the night audit pack for accounting
Run daily reports for the Director of Rooms Division and the Front Office Manager
Ensure back-up is run and the system is prepared for the next business day
Respond to guest or employee inquiries, concerns, or complaints in a courteous, timely, and efficient manner
Complete daily security reports and distribute to the appropriate department heads
Perform rounds of the resort grounds on a regular basis during the shift
Complete nightly lock up of the resort property
Understand Emergency Procedures and Security Officers Handbook
Respond to all emergencies (911, fire and smoke alarms, etc.) within the resort
Respond to guest complaints regarding noise and other issues
All other duties as assigned by department Director and/or Executive Team members
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma
Strong customer/guest service skills
High degree of professionalism
Hospitality experience preferred
Previous Front Desk service experience is ideal, but not required
Basic computer skills
Positive attitude as a contributor to a diverse work environment
Holiday and weekend availability
Ability to learn quickly and accurately
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for up to eight hours and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
