POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES The Lease Analyst position works under moderate, supervision to ensure land obligations are met timely and accurately. The individual will be responsible for owner inquiries, land system updates and special projects as needed. Experience in the analysis of leases, contracts, title opinions and other legal documentation to determine company ownership and obligations in leases, contracts and wells is critical to the success of the team.
Special focus to be placed on:
Setup, monitor, maintain and update necessary leases, contracts and well information into the company's Lease Records system
Prepare, analyze and interpret computer generated reports from the company’s Lease Records system
Review, monitor, and assist in coordination of payment recommendations and special obligation reports, taking appropriate action to maintain and protect asset base
Update company’s Lease Records system to reflect accurate ownership
Review all owner inquiries and provide timely feedback within the company's owner management system
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments, brokers, state/government officials, and the public
Communicate effectively with internal and external clients
Maintain employer confidence and protects corporate assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential
Duties and responsibilities may be added or changed at any time
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma required Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Three (3) years minimum lease analysis experience, preferably with producing properties
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
Flexibility to work hours as needed to meet deadlines
Basic understanding of the oil and gas industry, general understanding of Lease Records procedures
General understanding of varied lease/land software programs
Experience with Enertia software preferred, not required
Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to research information, with good analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to conduct independent research online records (state commission websites, county recorders, assessors, etc.) and of physical files to confirm the accuracy of the information represented in lease and well schedules
Attention to detail, efficiency, flexibility and ability to coordinate well with others are critical skills for the success of this role on the team
Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision
Experience in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, and Appalachia assets preferred, not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Prolonged periods working at a desk in front of a computer.
