Overview Universal Banker - Williams Co. Float at State Bank. This role supports the customer service, sales, and paying and receiving functions of the community office, coordinates work within the department and with other departments, and reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor.

Responsibilities

Greets and serves customers in a friendly and courteous manner.

Maintains awareness of new business opportunities; offers relevant products and services to meet customer needs; refers customers to appropriate sales staff as needed.

Meets or exceeds established referral and sales goals for both business and consumer clients.

Handles customer concerns on statements, reconciliations, and other routine questions.

Maintains knowledge of current bank products and services.

Processes changes to existing accounts as requested by clients.

Assists in banking center call efforts by reviewing, updating, and calling prospect lists.

Processes transactions including deposits, payments, transfers, etc., in a timely and professional manner.

Cashes checks within approved authority and operating policy.

Sells Cashier’s Checks and Money Orders.

Processes night deposits and mail deposits; maintains cash to required levels.

Prepares daily settlement and proof of cash transactions; balances cash drawer.

Prepares transactions for scanning (branch capture, batch submission, etc.).

Minimizes risk of losses related to cash handling and other controllable losses.

Prepares reports related to the function (e.g., currency transaction, BSA reports).

Demonstrates working knowledge of State Bank’s security program.

Travels to other banking center locations as needed.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Coordinates departmental tasks with coworkers to ensure efficient processes and proper segregation of duties.

Ancillary Duties

May provide safe deposit box services to customers.

May support non-paying and receiving activities (e.g., new accounts, consumer loans).

May balance, replenish, and/or service ATM machines.

May process and validate accuracy of coin and currency amounts related to cash shipments.

Performs tasks supportive of the essential functions of the job, as needed.

Physical Requirements

Occasionally ascends/descends stairs to move through the location.

Must be able to position self to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight spaces.

Must be able to remain stationary for significant periods.

Occasionally moves about inside the office; sometimes moves objects in all directions.

Frequently communicates with others; continuously uses hands and wrists.

Occasionally operates machinery and/or power tools; may operate vehicles or heavy equipment.

Occasionally exposed to outdoor elements.

Salary/physical duties vary with responsibilities; some tasks are sedentary.

Occasionally handles objects up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of related experience preferred.

Preferred Skills:

Moderate reading, writing, and grammar skills.

Proficient analytical and mathematics skills.

Proficient communicative and interpersonal relations skills.

Proficient eye-hand coordination.

Ability to operate various office machines.

Ability to lift approximately fifty (50) lbs. of coin.

Visual and auditory skills.
