The Mid-Corp Relationship Manager is a strategic professional who closely follows the latest Consumer Retail trends, adapts them for application in covering clients and developing dialogue with prospects, and understands the competitive landscape. The Relationship Manager is adept at understanding a client’s financial performance and participates actively in the credit underwriting process. This individual understands how clients capitalize themselves, is knowledgeable about the debt capital markets, and knows how to position the bank to compete for lead capital markets roles. This strategic player is also well‑versed in building consensus internally and managing the risk management / credit committee discussions. The Relationship Manager has excellent communication skills that are leveraged to develop dialogue with clients and deliver the global Citi platform to the client, drive out‑sized wallet capture, and exceed return hurdles. This individual should have a strong understanding of the full product capabilities of the bank and understand how best to position against our competition.

The Relationship Manager is accountable for direct business results which include meeting return hurdles, driving topline revenue growth, and building a client relationship that leverages the product and geographic breadth of Citi. Additionally, this professional is responsible for mentoring Analysts, Associates and Junior Bankers.

Responsibilities

Be a subject matter expert in the Consumer Retail vertical

Understand and follow trends within the industry to provide thought leadership to clients

Drive innovation on the solutions we provide clients through partnerships with product specialists and subject matter experts, while structuring deals that balance risk and reward

Execution experience on complex deals with a proven ability to lead a deal team process

Oversee the credit relationship of the client, coordinating and supervising the entire process, ensuring the proper application of policies and institutional processes

Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and Citi's policies / guidelines at all times

Responsible for actively calling on clients to deepen relationships and proactively owning, responding to and anticipating future needs, challenges or risks, in addition to identifying and pursuing new clients aligned with Citi’s value proposition

Develop relationships with prospects and convert to multi-product clients over time

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications

15+ years of experience

FINRA Licensing, Series 79, 63, SIE

In-depth knowledge of all aspects of commercial banking including strong commercial credit knowledge and an ability to quickly learn new products and services

Demonstrates an expert level of Early Warning Detection skills

Demonstrates expert level credit skills; capable of structuring all credit deals and guiding staff through the credit deal approval process

Ability to work effectively in team setting

Ability to lead multi‑functional teams to provide an exceptional client experience

Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills (negotiation, consultative skills, leadership)

Ability to work under pressure while making sound decisions

Highly focused, able to rapidly determine key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities

Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business

A proactive approach in looking for ways in strengthening business relationship with clients, delivers a simple, secure, and seamless client experience

Ability to embrace new technology and understand the role digital plays in the experience we deliver for our clients

Able to quickly adapt priorities based on the latest data insights

Education

Bachelor’s / University degree, Master’s degree preferred

$170, - $300,
