GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Credit Analyst II is primarily responsible for partnering with Portfolio Managers, supporting the daily duties of underwriting and monitoring credit while performing analytical activities and identifying risks or issues as needed. A successful Credit Analyst II will be able to draft documents and prepare for credit reviews with limited support from the Portfolio Managers. The role requires knowledge of financial and risk analysis and proficiency in financial modeling. The Credit Analyst II is expected to build proficiency in underwriting, developing the ability to complete the process from start to finish with limited oversight. Additionally, the role involves attending and supporting Portfolio Reviews as needed. Responsible and accountable for risk management by openly exchanging ideas, elevating concerns, and following policies and procedures. Always act in the best interest of customers and colleagues, ensuring actions and behaviors promote a positive customer experience. Operate within the Bank's risk appetite, and consistently identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report risks of all types. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partner with Portfolio Managers in credit and underwriting, performing analytical tasks as needed. Use critical thinking to identify and draft documentation. Complete indicative credit information into Banking Systems accurately and regularly. Prepare risk-rating scorecards and tickler event analysis, collaborating with PMs to determine actions. Develop risk models and advise PMs of potential obstacles. Identify monitoring analysis activities required. Verify covenants and define updates needed on ticklers. Monitor covenant completion, track past due or non-compliant covenants, and recommend actions. Assess covenant compliance reporting and identify issues. Review covenant compliance certificates and determine necessary actions. Update financial covenants and calculations as needed. Run Probability of Default (PD) models with oversight. Evaluate completed spreads and collaborate with the CCU team for necessary edits. Identify and recommend portfolio management actions using Credit Service reporting and RADAR. Prepare ALSR reports with oversight. Run risk and projection models based on provided assumptions. Complete the underwriting process with limited oversight. Create and complete a CAM with minimal errors. Review and rewrite renewals for deals of limited complexity. Conduct portfolio analysis and prepare for Portfolio Reviews and client meetings. Support Portfolio Managers and special projects. Take remedial actions to address deficiencies and escalate issues when necessary. Assist with training new employees if needed. Participate in special projects as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting. At least 2 years of Commercial Banking experience. Strong financial and risk analysis skills, including financial modeling. Extensive knowledge of banking products and services. Understanding of corporate structures and legal documents. Knowledge of U.S. government regulations. Regional market knowledge is a plus. Proficiency in banking applications and Microsoft Office. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective problem-solving and multitasking skills. WORKING CONDITIONS: Standard office environment with minimal exposure to environmental factors. Minimal travel required.
