Join our team as a Men's Suiting & Outerwear Designer at Perry Ellis! This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and dedicated professional who is eager to lead the design of our suiting, bottoms, and outerwear collections. You will be involved in the entire design process, from brainstorming innovative concepts to overseeing final production. Key Responsibilities: Own the Creative Vision:

Take charge of developing and presenting fresh product line concepts, motivating the team to realize your vision. Drive the Design Process:

Oversee the complete design lifecycle, from market research and inspiration boards to sketching and CAD development. Collaborate with various departments for seamless communication. Stay Ahead of Trends:

Regularly research market trends, competitor offerings, and industry developments to inform your designs. Innovate and Refine:

Revitalize our bestselling products and use your creativity to conceive the next major trend. Align Creativity with Business Goals:

Collaborate with the merchandising team to craft a compelling seasonal story that aligns with creative and financial targets, including pricing and SKU requirements. Ensure Quality and Value:

Pay close attention to detail to guarantee each product exudes high perceived value and meets our quality and fit standards. Conduct Insightful Research:

Analyze trends in color, print, silhouette, fabric, and trim, and present your findings effectively. Collaborate and Communicate:

Engage in design meetings, present your creative ideas, and create persuasive presentation boards and other tools to showcase your designs. Bring Designs to Life:

Produce detailed flat sketches, fabric and body CADs, and manage updates throughout the season. Approve fabric colorways and details. Lead Fittings and Updates:

Contribute actively to all fittings, offering feedback and updating sketches as necessary. Maintain a Clear Pipeline:

Stay informed on product status during internal meetings. Collaborate Across Teams:

Work closely with Technical Designers, Product Developers, and Fabric Teams to ensure accurate and timely PLM packages, including trim sheets and summary sketches. Manage the Team:

Oversee the execution of tasks by your team, including mentoring an assistant designer, while collaborating with other key teams on a daily basis. Travel as Needed:

Be prepared for occasional travel to support design initiatives. Skills Required: Exceptional creativity and a genuine passion for design. Proficient in

Adobe Illustrator

and

Photoshop . Strong knowledge of tailored fabrics and the construction processes for suiting and outerwear. The ability to quickly adapt to new technologies, including 3D design and Nedgraphics. A keen eye for detail. Superior organizational, time management, communication, and presentation skills. Confidence in presenting ideas and communicating your design vision. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Design from an accredited institution. A minimum of 5 years of design experience in men's suiting and/or outerwear. This is a full-time position based in New York with a competitive salary range of $88,000 - $100,000, commensurate with experience. We look forward to reviewing your application!
