Position : Part-time Instructor – Electronics for the Spring 2026 semester. Under the supervision of the Dean, to plan, develop, and revise a program of instruction, to teach classroom and laboratory courses in electronics technology. Teaching assignment to be in core subjects such as DC-AC circuits, analog and digital electronics, devices, microprocessors, programmable controllers or fabrication techniques. Related duties include acquisition of supplies and equipment, upkeep of laboratory facilities, participation in division and department activities, and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.

Manage the classroom/laboratory.

Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.

Manage equipment, supplies and materials.

Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.

Collaborate with advisory committee in program area.

Attend departmental and institutional meetings.

Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.

Support student organizations and activities.

Develop relationships with business and industry.

Complete program evaluation and follow-up.

Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in field.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Must have one (1) of the following:

Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Associates in Applied Science degree (ASS) in Electronic Technology, electromechanical, Mechatronics with Bachelor’s in any discipline

Associates in Applied Science degree in Electronic Technology, Electromechanical, Mechatronics with seven (7) years (14,000 hours) of experience and training, including one (1) year of Supervision/ Management in Electronic Technology - Project management, Service or Production Testing

Occupational Experience

Must have a minimum of two (2) years of full-time or equivalent (4000 hours) experience in Electronic Technology - Design Development, Service, or Production Testing.

In Addition, One Of The Following Must Be Met

At least one (1) year of work experience must have occurred within the last five (5) years.

Two (2) years of teaching Electronic Technology, Electromechanical, Mechatronics course work at the post-secondary level within the last five (5) years.

Preferred Certification Or Licensure

Certified IPC Trainer (CIT)

ISA CSST or CSE

Additional Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Teaching experience preferred.

Knowledge or experience with engaged and service learning strongly preferred.

Effective communication (oral and written).

Knowledge of assessment of student academic achievement techniques.

Must meet WTCS instruction certification requirements.

Must meet Higher Learning Commission (HLC) standards (if applicable).

Ability to relate successfully with students and staff of diverse backgrounds.

Supplemental Information Start Date:

This position supports the STEM Pathway and is available to start in the Spring 2026 semester.

Hours:

Up to 19 hours weekly, in-person, Multi-campus. Work is conducted during scheduled course hours, Monday - Friday. Hours vary based on departmental needs. Employees will conduct all work hours in the State of Wisconsin; work outside the state is prohibited.

Salary Beginning in the fall of 2024 the starting hourly wage for all part-time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Part-time faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour. This starting hourly wage is non-negotiable unless market conditions dictate otherwise.
