BIM/VDC Plumbing Coordinator

Key Responsibilities Develop detailed drawings in accordance with the company’s Plumbing piping standards; ensure work is implemented within cost, schedule, and accuracy parameters; complete accurate and coordinated shop drawings; assist with spool drawings and material take-offs from shop drawings. Design Standards – Work in conformity with company Plumbing CAD Standards and detailing practices; contribute to improvements of these standards. Software Proficiency – Use Revit and Fabrication CADMEP to produce accurate production drawings; proficiency or willingness to learn advanced BIM tools; stay up-to-date on software developments. Detailing Proficiency – Establish required drawing formats; verify all drawings are complete and constructible; review shop drawings for quality and accuracy before distribution to the field; create record drawings from redlined field markups; produce clean, usable working backgrounds. Interdepartmental communications – Coordinate with Project Supervision to determine detailing scope; participate in project coordination and incorporate changes into drawings. Communication Skills – Maintain open lines with the BIM/VDC Manager and Plumbing Field Team; report outstanding issues; participate in department meetings and contribute improvement ideas. Qualifications A.A. degree in design/drafting or equivalent work experience. Good communication and organizational skills. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in commercial Plumbing. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit, MS Word, Excel, Outlook and related 3D detailing tools. Demonstrates honesty, integrity and personal accountability. Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; professional interaction with construction industry professionals. Physical capability to lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds; able to perform bending, reaching, and lifting per OSHA safety guidelines.
