Position Summary We are seeking a proactive and highly skilled
Systems Administrator
to manage and support the IT infrastructure for our wholesale food distribution operations. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of our systems, which support warehouse operations, order processing, logistics, and enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in system administration within a fast-paced, logistics-heavy environment and will be responsible for maintaining servers, managing network infrastructure, ensuring system security, and supporting mission-critical applications such as ERP, inventory, and routing systems.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor, maintain, and upgrade on-premises and cloud-based servers, networks, and storage systems
Administer core business applications such as ERP (e.g., Produce Pro, NetSuite), WMS, routing, and customer portals
Maintain security protocols including user access management, backups, firewalls, patch management, and disaster recovery planning
Support IT infrastructure at warehouse, office, and remote locations (e.g., network connectivity, printers, handheld devices, scales, etc.)
Respond to helpdesk tickets, perform root cause analysis, and resolve technical issues in a timely and professional manner
Implement and manage network and endpoint monitoring tools
Collaborate with department heads to assess technology needs and deploy appropriate solutions
Document systems, procedures, and infrastructure changes
Manage vendor relationships for hardware, software, and service providers
Provide after-hours support for critical system issues when necessary
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3–5 years of experience in systems/network administration
Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and networking (firewalls, switches, wireless APs)
Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (Azure, AWS)
Understanding of IT compliance and security best practices
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in food distribution, logistics, or manufacturing
Familiarity with ERP systems used in wholesale food (e.g., Produce Pro, Aptean, NetSuite)
Scripting or automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
Basic understanding of EDI and system integrations
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Hybrid position with periodic work in warehouse and refrigerated environments
May require travel between facilities or to vendor sites
