Overview
Position: Snowflake Architect Location: Houston, TX, Onsite Only Experience: 10+ years Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time/Contract Company: PETADATA is hiring for a Snowflake Architect to design, implement, and manage Snowflake data warehousing solutions. Key Responsibilities
Architectural Design: Design and develop Snowflake data warehouse architectures to support various business needs. Data Modeling and Workflows: Create scalable and efficient data models and workflows, including data ingestion, transformation, and storage. Standards and Best Practices: Develop best practices and standards for Snowflake architecture and ensure adherence across projects. Implementation and Integration: Lead the implementation of Snowflake solutions, set up Snowflake environments, schema design, and data pipelines. System Integration: Integrate Snowflake with existing systems, data sources, and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Data Migration: Oversee the migration of data from on-premises or other cloud platforms to Snowflake. Performance and Tuning: Monitor and optimize Snowflake performance, including query tuning, resource allocation, and cost management. Security and Compliance: Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA); manage Snowflake security features (access controls, encryption, data masking). Collaboration and Leadership: Work with data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts; provide technical leadership and mentorship; facilitate stakeholder discussions. Documentation and Training: Create and maintain documentation; conduct training sessions on Snowflake features and best practices. Troubleshooting and Support: Identify and resolve issues related to Snowflake environments, data quality, and performance; provide ongoing support and maintenance. Innovation and Improvement: Stay up-to-date with Snowflake updates and industry trends; recommend new tools and methodologies. Qualifications
Experience: 12+ years in data architecture and engineering, with at least 6+ years specifically with Snowflake. Data integration & migration experience Data modularization and ERP systems experience Manufacturing, Oil & Gas industry experience is preferred Expertise in Snowflake architecture, data modeling, ETL/ELT, and performance tuning Proficiency with SQL, data warehousing concepts, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Experience with data integration and ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, dbt) Strong understanding of data security and compliance best practices Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure Strong communication skills for presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Certifications (Preferred): Snowflake SnowPro Certification; Cloud platform certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Data Engineer, etc.) Education
Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Additional Information
