Nutrition Services Associate - Part-Time - Flexible Hours

Overview
St. Croix Health is looking for a benefit eligible part-time (0.5 or 0.6 FTE) Nutrition Services Associate to join our team. The scheduled hours vary, as early as 5:30 AM and as late as 7:30 PM and will work every other weekend. Responsibilities
Assists with serving pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient meals, cafeteria clientele, and catered functions. Prepares meals by following recipes and records production on production sheets for quality control; monitors temperatures of all food served to patients and guests. Maintains production logs and daily temperature logs; assists with meal presentation as recipes specify. Communicates with lead kitchen coordinator and operates the Point of Sale (POS) system; charges guests accurately and manages cash drawers. Counts and records cash drawer totals at the start and end of shifts to maintain accuracy. Sets up, delivers, and retrieves patient trays according to guidelines; handles cleaning and preparation of foods for cooking or serving. Responds to nursing staff feedback to ensure trays are on time and correct and adjusts as needed. Maintains stock by filling and delivering orders for departments; restocks serving stations with food and utensils. Performs general cleaning throughout the Nutrition Services Department and operates the dish machine; may wash dishes in a three‑sink area. Takes temperatures in dish and refrigeration areas and answers phone calls and room service requests as needed. Assists with FIFO inventory practices for received groceries and pre-prep/prep work for the Kitchen Coordinator. Requirements
Education & Licensure
High school diploma or GED (or currently enrolled in HS with expected graduation within the next 2 years) ServSafe Certification within six (6) months of hire preferred Experience
Prior food service experience required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent communication and listening skills Ability to work independently with little direction and manage multiple demands Strong customer service orientation Ability to work cooperatively with others Ability to walk, bend and stand for extended periods Ability to make correct change and operate POS system Works well under pressure Physical Requirements
