To serve customers by safely and efficiently transporting products from the warehouse by driving a tractor trailer to various customers and properly delivering and unloading products according to customer invoices and company standards. Responsibilities
Unloads product from trailer, by hand or using a hand cart, in all weather conditions and places in designated customer storage areas according to customer specifications and company standards. Completes all paperwork according to established guidelines (e.g., DOT logs, inspections, maintenance reports, trip reports) and ensures invoices are accurate and submitted daily; reports damages and shortages promptly. Maintains food safety protocols and sanitary conditions in the tractor, trailer, and warehouse as applicable. Develops and maintains good relationships with customers through excellent, courteous service and clear communication. Other duties as assigned by Management. Qualifications
Required Minimum Education/Experience: High school diploma/GED/equivalent, plus 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred. Completion of a tractor trailer driving school is acceptable in lieu of high school diploma. Certifications: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License. Must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of employment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of DOT regulations; Hazmat guidelines; safe lifting and delivery practices. Skills in long-distance driving, multi-terrain navigation, customer communication, problem solving, and product delivery. Ability to drive a tractor-trailer day and night, stay alert, meet productivity goals, handle hazardous materials and perishable items, and operate related equipment (3-axle tractor, 45\'-48\' trailer, straight truck, onboard computer, keypad, hand cart). Ability to perform basic math, plan and organize work independently, and read/speak English sufficiently to communicate and complete reports. Physical Demands
The physical demands described are representative of those required to perform the essential functions, including lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 250 pounds with a cart, climbing in/out of tractor and trailer, and manual handling of pallets. Work Environment
The work may involve exposure to various temperatures and conditions, overnight schedules, weekends and holidays, and moving mechanical parts. Overtime and irregular hours may be required. The environment may include fumes or airborne particles; noise is typically moderate. Notice and Compliance
