Summary:
The Digital Marketing Officer develops and executes integrated digital marketing strategies that enhance the visibility, engagement, and reputation of the USF College of Education. This position plays a key role in driving awareness and recruitment through targeted email campaigns, compelling web content, and data-driven digital initiatives. The officer helps manage the College’s digital presence across web, email and social media platforms, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment with the university’s brand. The role involves developing and optimizing content for SEO, managing paid and organic digital campaigns, and using analytics to measure and enhance performance. The officer leads the College’s email marketing efforts from concept to execution—developing segmented campaigns that support student recruitment, alumni engagement, and internal communications that strengthen faculty, staff, and student connection. Responsibilities include building and optimizing email workflows, managing subscriber lists and analyzing campaign performance to refine strategies for greater impact. Reports to the director of marketing and collaborates with design, donor relations and enrollment teams; this position ensures consistent messaging and alignment with the university’s brand standards. The ideal candidate combines creativity, technical proficiency, and analytical insight to deliver effective, engaging digital experiences that promote the College’s programs, faculty, and student success stories. Responsibilities: Develops and manages the College’s social media presence by creating engaging, brand-aligned content, attending events to capture real-time storytelling opportunities, and fostering meaningful online engagement with target audiences. Plans, designs, and executes targeted email and digital marketing campaigns to support student recruitment, alumni engagement, and internal communications while tracking performance metrics to optimize reach and impact. Assists with managing, updating and creating new content for the College of Education website to ensure accuracy, accessibility and alignment with university branding and strategic priorities. Performs additional marketing and communications tasks as needed to support the overall goals and initiatives of the College. Qualifications: Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Marketing, Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, Digital Media, or related field, with two years of experience in related positions. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Preferred Experience:
Proven experience in using a DSLR camera, excellent communication and copywriting skills, managing social media accounts on behalf of an organization or brand, crafting communications for segmented stakeholder groups, marketing automation and proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, HubSpot and Microsoft Office tools, and previous experience working in the public sector or a nonprofit.
