The Communications and Marketing Officer for Student Affairs at Sarasota-Manatee is responsible for developing, reviewing, and managing communications for internal and external audiences through various communication channels, such as print, web, email, and other marketing strategies. This position writes, edits, and promotes news announcements, feature stories, and other creative content for Student Affairs under the Division of Student Success at Sarasota-Manatee, and assists with the production and coordination of various marketing initiatives, such as marketing campaigns, website changes and updates, and email communications. The position is also responsible for managing Student Affairs social media presence at the Sarasota-Manatee campus on various channels, if requested, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Additionally, this position manages and updates all Sarasota-Manatee Student Affairs websites, and creates web content and webpages, as needed. Responsibilities

Responsible for developing, reviewing, managing, and overseeing day-to-day communications and marketing operations for internal and external audiences through various communication channels. Responsible for managing the Student Affairs departmental social media presence on various channels. Write, edit, create, and promote news announcements, events, programs, feature stories, presentations, and other creative content for Student Affairs areas. Highlight successful work being completed by Student Affairs staff and students. Work closely with campus communications and marketing team and University (UCM) colleagues across all USF campuses to align guidelines, processes, procedures, services, and initiatives as it pertains to communications and marketing. Coordinate with student staff leaders who manage and oversee communications and marketing for Student Government (SG), Campus Activities Board (CAB), and Registered Student Organizations (RSOs). Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, public relations, technical writing, digital media, or related field, with two years of experience in related positions; or a Master’s degree in the fields listed above; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.
