Mathnasium
Overview
Mathnasium of El Segundo is hiring Math Instructors/Tutors. Part-time, with flexible scheduling and opportunities to earn bonuses based on performance indicators. You will work with children from Kinder to 12th grade in a fun group setting at our center.
Responsibilities
Teach and support students in math during group tutoring sessions at the center.
Assess student needs and progress, and provide feedback to students and, where appropriate, to parents.
Maintain a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment; manage classroom flow and student engagement.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
Great math skills through Algebra I
Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills
Ability to professionally interact with students and parents
Energetic and confident personality
Must pass a Math employment test that covers elementary to Algebra 1 skills
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have experience as a math tutor, mathematics tutor, tutoring middle/high school students, or have a background as a math teacher
Ability to teach students in upper level high school math courses
Previous teaching experience or other experience working with students (a plus but not necessary)
Hours and Compensation Hours will vary, but generally are afternoons and evenings Monday – Friday from 3–7 pm. Tutoring occurs in our safe commercial center. No in-home tutoring. Pay is competitive + bonuses and based on education and experience. This is a part-time position with advancement opportunities.
