Full time; 40 hours per week. Primarily Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with travel to remote locations, extended hours on some days, and occasional weekends. Pay
Pay Range: $37.50 - $56.25 Education and Experience
Completion of an AMA or CMA accredited program in diagnostic ultrasound. Associate’s degree with one year full-time teaching component required. Three years clinical experience in General Ultrasound Imaging required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Ability to perform Native renal biopsy guidance. Licensure, Certification, and Registrations
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography certification in Abdomen and one additional specialty area (OB/GYN, Neuro, Breast, MSK). Certified in basic cardio-pulmonary resuscitation. Essential Functions
Independently serves as a lead educator and curriculum developer for CEAL ultrasound events with learners from around the nation/world. Performs quality ultrasound examinations and teaches others; recognizes abnormalities and artifacts; supports educational training studies with efficient workflow. Acts as a liaison with ultrasound vendors to acquire loaner machines for training events; makes recommendations for equipment purchases. Collaborates with CEAL leadership to develop and implement curriculum for ultrasound events. Facilitates the ultrasound mini-fellowship program with CEAL leadership. Leads education for Vimedix ultrasound simulator and supports faculty, residents, students, and other learners. Develops new ultrasound programming for School of Medicine students and clinical enterprise learners; hosts open scanning labs. Assists research faculty in protocol development and publications; develops standard operating procedures for CEAL ultrasound. Leads education for middle school and high school learners during open houses, summer camps, and immersive experiences; directs program logistics. Participates on the hospital Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) committee. Develops reports on ultrasound events and maintains inventory; ensures accurate data for departmental records. Manages CEAL ultrasound resources and data reporting.
Supports ultrasound research practices, including IRB applications and publications as appropriate. Ensures readiness of equipment and supplies for training procedures; reviews schedule to determine supply needs. Skills and Qualifications
Effective, professional communication with physicians, staff, and other Medical Center personnel. Ability to teach, assess quality of learners’ work, and adapt teaching to diverse age groups. Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain positive working relationships with staff and leadership. Ability to work under stress, multitask, and prioritize; use sound judgment in decision-making. Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Possible exposure to infectious and contagious diseases; exposure to blood-borne pathogens; occasional exposure to unpleasant environments. Subject to varying and unpredictable situations; exposure to chemicals; frequent interruptions. Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, dexterity, talking, hearing, and vision; lifting/carrying requirements up to 100 lbs for equipment with safety protocols.
