Overview
i3 is looking for Graphic Designer to help craft clean UI, crisp 2D elements, on-brand motion graphics, and more for its Virtual Training, Simulation, and Gaming business. As a Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for a variety of digital products based in the Unity game engine. You will work with delivery teams to imagine, test, build, and deploy multi-platform, customer facing software. Our ideal candidate supports all kinds of design efforts of these digital products, validating their efforts with the Creative Director and other designers within Creative Operations regularly, and ensures accurate implementation of designs into the Unity game engine, working closely with Software Engineers. Our ideal candidate workshops efforts with the Creative Director and Creative Operations weekly to ensure cohesive designs and implementations, can critique constructively, and adapts to brand standards quickly. A portfolio demonstrating core graphic design competencies is required and should be submitted with the application. While portfolios often show proficiency in web design and mobile apps, experience in motion graphics, branding, logomark design, print design, marketing projects, collaborations, and video work is beneficial. Specialization in producing high-fidelity graphics. Craft motion graphics and ensure implementation by software engineers is solid. Design for desktop-based and/or tablet-based UIs. Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with software engineers and other stakeholders. Illustrate design ideas to product stakeholders using mockups as needed. Provide feedback to software engineers as designs are implemented to ensure user experience is cohesive and accurate. Regularly workshop efforts with the Creative Director and the Creative Operations team to maintain a cohesive design and user experience of the digital product. Leverage design thinking to develop strategies where pathways are not always clear. Required experience, skills, and traits
Associate degree or the equivalent in work experience (2 years) in graphic design (illustration, motion graphics, typography, logo design, etc.). Working knowledge of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, After Effects, and/or other Adobe Creative Suite products, and optional experience in Unity Game Engine. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage and convey understanding across audiences at various levels. Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills. Preferred experience, skills, and traits
Working knowledge and/or understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite. Experience beyond illustration that demonstrates a variability of design skills. Understanding and appreciation of contemporary graphic design concepts. Foundational design principles and practices, typography and color understanding. Portfolio requirements
