Base pay range
$96,336.00/yr - $121,413.00/yr
Description ITS provides operational support to state agencies on a 24x7x365 basis; some positions may be required to provide this critical service at any time.
Under the direction of the Manager Information Technology Services 2 (M3) within the Digital Transformation Office, Digital Experience Bureau, Human Centered Design (HCD) Section, the incumbent will provide essential oversight and managerial support for the User Experience (UX) Design, Strategy, and Operations (DesignOps), including providing direct oversight and input into several projects in both Albany and NYC offices.
The Information Technology Specialist 4 will oversee the core User Experience (UX) Design Practitioners and assist in the coordination and collaboration among the greater HCD team, agency clients, and partners. They will ensure projects are properly tracked, procedures are documented, incidents and client requests are responded to, and oversee consultations on prospective new work and incoming client requests.
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Information Technology Specialist 4 to join our team. This individual will manage day-to-day administrative and operational tasks for the central core of UX/UI practitioners on the team, provide updates to leadership, and ensure the efficient operation of the organization. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable working independently and is able to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.
Specific duties
Support entire staff for various priority projects in all stages of the project management lifecycle;
Leverage technical, business, and financial insight in communication with clients and stakeholders;
Collaborate with diverse stakeholders and attend/schedule meetings throughout project lifecycles;
Attend meetings to determine assignments, research facts, track, and follow-up on critical projects;
Perform key benchmarks and provide updates on-time to ensure timely completion of assignments;
Facilitate interaction between project stakeholders and teams and liaise when necessary to ensure action items are addressed and completed;
Assist with managing day-to-day operational aspects of the Bureau across Sections and teams;
Resolve and/or escalate issues to relevant supervisor/manager in a prompt and timely fashion;
Ensure alignment of business goals with strategic solutions to guide process improvements;
Increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance the daily operations;
Prepare routine responses without direction, assemble background material for more complex issues, and draft responses as assigned by relevant leadership;
Review correspondence and other documents on behalf of various supervisors/managers;
Compose, format, edit and revise documents and recommend appropriate action as necessary;
Respond to miscellaneous requests for information from ITS staff as well as outside entities including other agencies, the relevant Executive Chamber staff, and/or the general public;
Gather background and statistical information as necessary and prepare correspondence, reports, speeches, and presentations using various software and databases;
As the area grows and projects expand, candidate will need to supervise and mentor other staff;
Work directly with employees, clients and vendors to research and resolve potential issues; and
Create and maintain critical documents, organizational charts, processes and procedures, timelines, and other operational records; and perform other tasks as requested by leadership.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 4, SG25 OR in a position at the SG23 level or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law OR in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades.
Note: If you are on the examination eligible list for the position title in this location, you do not need to respond to this posting unless you are also eligible for appointment by one of the qualifications listed above. Candidates must be reachable on the current eligible list for this title in order to be list appointed.
Additional Comments ITS will not offer permanent employment to any candidate unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States on a permanent basis. It is the policy of ITS not to hire F1 or H1 visa holders for permanent employment or to sponsor non-immigrant aliens for temporary work authorization visas or for permanent residence.
Some positions may require fingerprinting.
Some positions may require up to 25% travel and/or lifting up to 50 lbs. Some positions are pending Civil Service approval. Details of position(s) will be described further if you are selected for an interview.
If eligible, positions located in New York City will receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay with regular annual salary. Positions located in the Mid-Hudson will receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.
