Job Duties Primary duties are as follows:

Design qualitative and mixed methods evaluation approaches and collect data (20%)

Clean and analyze qualitative and mixed methods data (30%)

Develop and write reports, executive summaries, and/or scholarly articles to disseminate findings, independently or within groups of researchers (15%)

Publish and/or co-publish research and present findings at regional and national conferences (5%)

Support the development of research skills with graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and external collaborators (5%)

Collaborate with research leadership to organize documentation and data related to the research agenda (10%)

Collaborate with leadership team to develop project-relevant content for convenings (5%)

Some travel may be required to engage with stakeholders for designing studies, collecting data, and presenting findings (10%)

This role will primarily manage and support qualitative and mixed-methods research in the following areas:

Manage research and evaluation about North Carolina’s replication of the CUNY ASAP model called Boost

Manage research and evaluation for federally funded grants including Title III grants, Rural Postsecondary Economic Development grants, and Institute for Education Sciences grants

Collaborate with associate directors of research and evaluation to meet established grant timelines and deliverables

Support a team of researchers that may include graduate students

Job Qualifications

Requires post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor’s degree plus alternative or equivalent professional training and experience may be substituted for the advanced degree on an exceptional basis.

Advanced knowledge of and experience working with qualitative data or longitudinal data sets at the student level.

Experience conducting research using qualitative coding and thematic memo-ing

Knowledge of the unique context of community colleges.

Expertise using qualitative software such as Dedoose or Invivo

Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality control
