Bachelor’s Degree Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate At least 3 years of teaching experience (administrative experience preferred) At least 3 years of experience in athletics (coaching) Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team IVP fingerprint clearance card through AZ Department of Public Safety TB Clearance and proof of required immunizations Function

The Athletic Director administers the LHUSD boys and girls athletic programs for LHHS and Thunderbolt Middle School in compliance with the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) and the philosophy of LHUSD. Responsibilities and Requirements

Administers the district’s athletic programs under the supervision of the high school and middle school principals Develops procedures necessary for the administration of the athletic programs Oversees all student athlete athletic registration to maintain compliance with District and AIA policies Monitors all student athlete eligibility (athletic and academic) Prepares athletic schedules Conducts meetings and workshops for athletic coaches, student athletes and parents Conducts an evaluation of the school athletic programs and of all head coaching personnel Supervises the Athletic Trainer Coordinates with the school administration and Parks and Tec for the use of all school athletic facilities Serves as the District representative to the AIA, Regional Middle School Athletic meetings and Conference Athletic meetings Oversees compliance with the NCAA Eligibility Center in conjunction with the Registrar and Counseling Department Coordinates with district staff regarding the upkeep of athletic fields and facilities Ensures coaching compliance set for the by the District and AIA Develops and manage the Athletic Department budget; allocate funds for equipment, travel, etc. Oversees the ordering of all athletic equipment, uniforms and athletic supply needs Schedules all support services; game officials, emergency aides, security personnel, facilities, event staff, transportation, etc. Facilitates the letterman program and works collaboratively with the Booster Club Oversees the Student Athlete Leadership Program Facilitates athletic awards at the end of the year in collaboration with coaching staff Responsible for marketing and promotions of all athletic programs Always ensure a safe and conducive environment for student-athletes participating in the athletic program Staff and Student Responsibilities

MEETINGS: attend staff meetings and district in-service programs COMMITTEES: serve on committees as requested SCHOOL ACTIVITIES: be responsible for discharging instructional and non-instructional school-related activities TEAM MEMBER: be responsible for own involvement as contributing member involving group decision making and the development of a positive, cooperative building environment Student Personnel

HEALTH & WELFARE: identify and refer unusual student behavior to appropriate specialists; report to the nurse any injury or illness to a student or self DISCIPLINE: be responsible for enforcing building approved discipline plan SUPERVISION: be responsible for the supervision of students at all times Operations

POLICIES & REGULATIONS: know and observe Board policies and regulations PUPIL ATTENDANCE & TARDINESS: keep records of pupil attendance EQUIPMENT: account for athletic and district property, as required PHYSICAL PLANT: advise administration immediately of needed repairs, replacements and/or unsafe building/field conditions EMERGENCY PROCEDURES: follow school regulations regarding emergency procedures Finance/Business Management

RECOMMENDATIONS: responsible for submitting and justifying recommendations to Building Principal or designee School/Community Relations

PARENT CONFERENCES: meet with parents as required to advise them concerning student needs and progress INTERPRETATION: interpret school policies and programs to students and parents Other

HEALTH: responsible for performing those duties which protect the health and safety of students and employees OTHER DUTIES: responsible for performing other job-related duties as assigned by the Building Principal Physical Demands and Work Environment

Physical Effort Standing for sustained periods of time Repetitive motion and eye strain through extensive utilization of computer hardware and software May require lifting materials and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds EEOC
