Overview

English - Adjunct Instructor (Online) at Texas State Technical College (TSTC). Note: This is an evergreen requisition to collect resumes and expressions of interest for future opportunities. Responsibilities

Deliver approved curriculum, content, and assessments in an applied learning environment. Facilitate activities and discussions that engage diverse learning styles with targeted guidance and mentorship. Interpret and administer assessments and provide constructive feedback to support student growth and learning outcomes. Integrate technology effectively to enrich the educational experience. Act as an ambassador for the program and TSTC; Must be a resident of Texas as this is a Texas-based position. Contribute to instructional delivery, management, student retention and placement, recruitment, teamwork, and service. Participate in related tours and recruitment events and assist in department/program planning for recruitment. Demonstrate core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Certifications or Licenses

Meet with students at scheduled times to facilitate learning and success. Knowledge of collaborative software (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Zoom). Knowledge of Learning Management Systems and online instruction pedagogy. Oral and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and be punctual for meetings, appointments, training, etc. Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Certifications or Licenses

Experience with online instruction. Experience with competency-based education. Experience with non-traditional F2F teaching methods. Experience with Canvas LMS, Simple Syllabus, Workday. Adaptable to new teaching and learning styles. Three years of teaching in the discipline. Education and Experience

Doctorate or master’s degree in English or master’s degree with a concentration in English (minimum 18 graduate semester hours in English). Notes
