Responsibilities
The Flex Officer position is crucial to our company’s operational and financial success. The Flex Officer provides trained, competent support by working shifts which become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to our customers, while also protecting the health and work balance of our personnel. Requirements
Must have reliable transportation. One year of experience in security, military, or law enforcement is preferred. Excellent customer service skills. Willing and able to work holidays, weekends, and in all weather conditions. Must regularly stand or walk for extended periods of time and distance. Exceptional report writing skills. Mentally analyze a situation, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure in the area of responsibility. Able to work independently. Read and understand written instruction and communicate information and ideas in a clear and concise written form. Scheduling & Flexibility
The Flex Officer schedule is set by operational need and may vary from week to week. You will be trained at various posts and/or facilities and may work at a specific post for several weeks when needed, but this will not be a permanent assignment. Some shifts will be scheduled in advance; others may be assigned with short notice. You are expected to work any shift for which you are scheduled that falls within your availability. If you know you will be unavailable on an upcoming date or time, you must communicate this with your supervisor so they can adjust scheduling. For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called. If you refuse more than 20% of shifts, this could negatively impact your employment status with the company. Education
