We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented

Accountant / Bookkeeper

with strong experience using QuickBooks for a full-time benefited position with our client near Trussville, AL.

Our client is an established small business celebrating 50 years in business that has thrived on efficiency, accuracy, and a passion for delivering high-quality industrial products and services.

We are seeking a skilled individual to manage the day-to-day financial operations of their small business. You will work daily alongside the Controller and Office Manager, as a key member of the company keeping the financial records in order, helping management make informed decisions, and ensuring compliance.

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, managing accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), general ledger (G/L), reconciliation, and ensuring the smooth running of all bookkeeping related functions.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks or Sage, as well as a strong understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions using

QuickBooks

Prepare and post journal entries for daily, weekly, and monthly transactions

Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements

Manage

accounts payable (A/P)

and

accounts receivable (A/R)

processes

Ensure timely invoicing and payment collections

Prepare financial reports (e.g. income statements, balance sheets, P & L statements)

Assist with monthly and year-end close processes

Process payroll and ensure tax compliance

Track and manage inventory

Monitor cash flow and ensure that financial records are up-to-date

Prepare and file sales tax returns and other necessary filings

Provide support during audits and liaise with accountants or auditors as needed

Assist in budgeting and financial forecasting activities

Qualifications

Proven experience as a

Bookkeeper / Full Charge Bookkeeper / Accountant

in a similar role, ideally in a small-to-medium business environment

Proficient in QuickBooks accounting software (QuickBooks Desktop or Online)

Industrial industry experience (for inventory accounting purposes)

Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Ability to handle sensitive financial information with integrity and confidentiality

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members

High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other office software

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred but not required. Equivalent work experience will be considered.

Knowledge of tax laws and regulations relevant to small businesses
