Vaco is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager Consultant to join our team in Birmingham, AL. This consulting engagement offers an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and collaborative team, contributing to the success of our clients by providing expert accounting support.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the month‑end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Oversee general ledger accounting, including reconciliations, journal entries, and account analysis.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
Implement and maintain robust accounting systems and internal controls.
Provide technical accounting guidance and support to clients.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Utilize advanced ERP and other accounting systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA certification is preferred.
Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager, preferably in a consulting capacity.
Strong background in general ledger accounting and month‑end close processes.
Advanced technical skills, including proficiency with ERP systems and other accounting software.
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high‑quality work.
