Overview A well-established, family-owned manufacturing company with a strong national reputation is seeking a

Controller

to lead its Accounting and Finance operations. The company has a 70+ year track record of excellence, producing precision-engineered architectural and metal component systems used in commercial construction and design projects across the U.S.

This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the President, offering the opportunity to oversee all aspects of accounting, reporting, and financial operations while partnering closely with leadership on strategic initiatives. The organization is financially stable, growing, and known for its collaborative, people-centered culture.

Responsibilities

Lead the Accounting function, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, and Cost Accounting.

Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes; prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, including cash flow and working capital management.

Analyze production costs, margins, and operational performance to identify process improvements and cost efficiencies.

Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to optimize inventory valuation, production costing, and manufacturing performance metrics.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and audit requirements.

Oversee tax filings, external audits, and debt covenant reporting.

Manage and develop a team of 4+ accounting professionals, fostering growth and accountability.

Collaborate with executive leadership on financial strategy, new product launches, and capital planning initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA preferred.

6+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, ideally combining public accounting and private industry.

Recent experience in

manufacturing

required, including

cost accounting

and inventory management.

Experience managing a team of accounting professionals.

Strong ERP and Excel skills; experience with Microsoft Dynamics (D365, Navision, or similar) a plus.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.

Hands-on, detail-oriented leader who thrives in a collaborative environment.
