Summary Description The Cost Analyst is responsible for financial analysis and reporting to support continuous improvement efforts, financial planning and forecasting and internal controls to ensure stewardship and compliance to policy. The position also partners with and advises site business operations and Finance to improve our processes and profitability.
Qualifications Key Accountabilities
Analysis, evaluation and recommendations regarding operations
Conducting cost audits
Preparing and analyzing cost reports
Interpretation and application of financial policies and accounting standards
Investigation analysis and resolutions of variances
Budgeting/Forecasting of costs for the mill
Working knowledge of internal customers
Other projects as necessary
Personal qualities Required Experience and Education Minimum Required Experience and Education
2+ years accounting experience.
BS in related field. BS in Accounting or Finance preferred.
Required skills Minimum Required Skills
Ability to interpret financial data and standard cost concepts
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong computer skills with emphasis in Excel and SAP. All other Microsoft Office products a plus
Self‑starter. Quick learner. Motivated to improve self and surroundings. Team player.
