Our drivers ensure customers' products arrive safely and timely while building strong relationships with our clients. Primary Responsibilities: Interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring accurate and timely communication. Function as a team member and perform any assigned duties to best serve the company. Conduct all safety checks and inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Report all safety issues or required repairs. Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company driving policies. Report all safety hazards immediately and ensure cargo is loaded and secured properly. Perform count checks and verify customer invoices of loaded products. Accurately maintain all required paperwork related to freight. Assist with loading and unloading during deliveries. Deliver customer orders along predetermined routes in accordance with the schedule. Unload products and transport them into designated storage areas. Conduct damage control checks and communicate issues to supervisors as per company policy. Confirm delivery with customers and collect necessary signatures. Handle cash or checks for payments when required and manage customer returns efficiently. Ensure that all equipment is secure at all times. Manage and document any damaged goods or returns as necessary. Maintain daily records of hours worked per Federal DOT and company requirements. Keep vehicles and loading areas clean and orderly. At the end of each shift, secure equipment and complete required documentation. Complete other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum 12 months commercial driving experience High school diploma/GED or equivalent Valid CDL A license Meet all state licensing and certification requirements Must be at least 21 years of age Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check Pass road test Hold a valid DOT Health Card or the ability to obtain one Able to lift and utilize equipment for moving products weighing between 10-90 pounds during shifts Company Description: Performance Foodservice, a division of Performance Food Group, builds close relationships with a variety of local customers, including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries.
