Overview
Vaco by Highspring is partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit to hire a Controller to oversee all accounting operations and financial reporting. This role will manage the month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections, and board-level financial reporting while ensuring compliance with grants, government reimbursements, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has prior experience as a Controller, strong leadership skills, and advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Excel. Base pay range
$120,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Prepare monthly financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and board reports with analysis and insights Oversee accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, consolidations, grants, and revenue recognition Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and compliance with government contracts and grant requirements Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while maintaining strong internal controls and policies Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and reporting to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance Requirements
5+ years of accounting leadership experience Grant management experience required Nonprofit experience required Local candidates to AZ only—no relocation offered. Perks
