We are seeking a Senior Communications Coordinator to join our PR and Communications team within the Marketing and Business Development department. This position will work with communications, marketing and business development colleagues in the US and globally to support day-to-day communications activity, including media relations, internal communications, awards and rankings, bios and social media. The role can be based in Dallas, Houston or Austin. Responsibilities
Write press releases, new hire announcements, award nominations and website stories Coordinate lawyer review and final sign-off for news items Assist in the development of internal newsletters Oversee firm lawyers’ website bios, including preparation and ongoing updates Contribute to publication surveys, legal directory submissions and other firm-related communications Identify publicity opportunities to highlight the firm, its lawyers and practices Support the firm’s social media efforts, including occasionally leading Instagram campaigns Contribute to internal communications and support targeted campaigns Deliver internal firm communications using email software Monitor news websites to identify awards opportunities and track deadlines Collaborate with the firm’s PR agency to support press coverage and coordinate bylines Oversee media monitoring efforts and internal reporting Qualifications and experience
A minimum of five years of relevant experience in a professional services or business environment; ideally with some understanding of law firms Bachelor’s degree Demonstrable writing, proofreading and editing experience Understanding of and adherence to AP Style Strong understanding of the news production process Experience writing across multiple mediums including social media, print and web Ability to manage expectations with stakeholders Strong attention to detail Self-starter with excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills Proven organizational skills with project management and multitasking abilities Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint and advanced Excel) Self-directed, motivated and results-driven with problem-solving skills Experience in a legal and/or professional services environment preferred Some overtime may be required Competencies
